Mary J. Blige - Stronger with Each Tear

"Stronger with Each Tear" is the ninth studio album from one of the strongest woman R&B singers of The States Mary J. Blige. For my opinion, new album may not offer her best R&B works. Still, it's very nice to see her continuous and voiced talent growing on the new album. Two singles are available to stream from the album:

listen: Mary J. Blige - The One
listen: Mary J. Blige - I Am

Liars' new album and song from "Sisterworld"

Think of gothic version of Panda Bear songs, new Liars album "Sisterworld" starts like horror version of Panda Bear's Scott Walker-like tune "Take Pills". Personally, i think describing this album is not very sensible idea. "Sisterworld" creates its own world with avant-garde melodies and vocals. It's like Resident Evil game in Playstation world, or a senseless David Lynch movie in cinema. Moreover, i started to think this album is influenced by ghosts of Brooklyn streets. Once it starts to play, "Sisterworld" takes control of whole house!

Top Ten Songs You Probably Haven't Heard But Should 2009

I haven’t had much time to blog about music this year, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t make as much time as I could to listen to it and seek out the latest and greatest. 2009 was a great year for music, with Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective battling for the top spot on indie lists whilst musicians like Bat For Lashes, Phoenix, Fever Ray, Passion Pit and many more filled our mindscapes with new sounds and our dance floors with new beats. I still don’t have much time to share all the music I loved from this year, but I had to make a top ten list to celebrate the end of another music-filled year.

Like last year, I decided to create a top ten list of songs you may not have heard. As such, I’ve removed a few of my favorite singles from the year (songs like ‘Listzomania’ by Phoenix, ‘One Wing’ by Wilco, ‘To Kingdom Come’ by Passion Pit, and ‘Hell’ by Tegan & Sara) because these songs and artists have already received widespread attention. If you haven’t heard them, check them out! This list is for obscurities (as judged by me) and maybe, just maybe, you’ll discover a new favorite of your own. I hope you enjoy them!

Honorable Mentions-
“Friends” by Deastro
“Sour Milk/Salt Water” by Port O’ Brien
“Falling Stars” by Sarah Siskind
“November Was White, December Was Grey” by Say Hi

10. “Shadows” by Au Revoir Simone- Just a smooth and beautiful song. From ‘Still Night, Still Light’.

9.
“Black Crow” by Division Day- I had to choose one Division Day song, and it was a run-off between this and ‘Devil Light’. They were basically tied, but I went with this one because of its ascendant melancholy. Check them both out here. From 'Visitation'.

8.
“Like A Diamond” by Glass Ghost- This is technically the demo for a song that came out this year, but I love the completely honest, mumbling, and immediate feeling of the demo so much more than the final product. Final version is from ‘Idol Omen’.

7.
“The Trouble With Flying” by Orba Squara- What a great song. It’s so cute but it still has a laid-back, new-folk groove. From ‘The Trouble With Flying’.

6.
“Wide-Eyed, Legless” by Laura Veirs- This song sparks something deep down inside that is difficult to even describe. There is darkness and beauty here, covetous lyrics and an almost demonic little glimmer lurking inside. Suffice it to say I played this song almost fifty times in a row the first time I heard it, just trying to grasp that spark. If only it was longer! From ‘July Flame’.

5.
“Gimme Sympathy” by Metric- My favorite song to sing along with from 2009! Not really obscure, per say, but still it deserves just as much attention as 'Help I'm Alive'. From ‘Fantasies’.

4.
“Little Bird Courage” by Old Canes- I posted about this song earlier in the year, shortly after discovering it for the first time. I still adore it just as much, and no song on this list can compare when it comes to making you feel like you have a friend at your side who will always believe in you. Nor can any other song give you the same confidence in your step. From ‘Feral Harmonic’.

3.
“Cosmic Love” by Florence & The Machine- Admittedly Florence & The Machine did receive plenty of attention this year, but this song is so world-changing for me that I could not leave it off. Besides, it fell into the shadow of another song from ‘Lungs’, “Kiss With A Fist”, and I had to try and pull it out. ‘Lungs’ is an all-around excellent album though, so give it a listen if you haven’t yet.

2.
“Get Older” by Dan Deacon- This song is pure anticipation. Every time I hear it I love it more. It may be a bit of an acquired taste though… I can see how it could come off as annoying, even headache inducing. But if you really listen to the layers and revel in the insanity of the build-up and release it becomes so much more than noise. From ‘Bromst’.

1.
“Quiet Little Voices” by We Were Promised Jetpacks- Here it is, the song of the year! One does not have to define the greatness of this song; it speaks for itself. To you I bow! From ‘These Four Walls’.
_
Have a wonderful new year!

It's one of the best moments Dido offers, relax vocals, beautiful lyrics, telling about you can not live without love. It's a must have songs for slow pop song fans.

Charlotte Gainsbourg new Album "IRM" and "Heaven Can Wait"

The daughter of British actress and singer Jane Birkin and French actor/singer Serge Gainsbourg, Charlotte Gainsbourg will release the third studio album IRM (scheduled for release January 26, 2010) by Because Music / Warner / Elektra.

The first single "Heaven Can Wait" was released on 2 November and The music video for "Heaven Can Wait" can be seen here on Youtube.

I know what you think about album cover. The stupid and sexy girl look with a little opened mouth. Despite its bad art work, the album sounds quite mellow.

You can stream entire album preview IRM on her official page.

Sade: "Soldier of Love" - New Single!

Sade releases a brand new album, the first album since "Lovers Rock" (2000). New single becomes "Soldier of Love" that proves Sade has obsessions about love. As for the lyrics, the song repeats "I'm a soldier of love" a lot. The new album will be released on February 8th, according to official Sade page.

Elizabeth Fraser ( of Cocteau Twins) - Moses: NEW SINGLE

The Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser returns with a mysterious solo work, still it sounds like another Cocteau Twins song to me. It comes with three versions, Original, Thighpaulsandra Remix and Spaceland Remix. Like her previous solo performances, it's difficult to understand what she is saying! The only change I noticed was her white hair on the promotional pictures. I was very happy not to see a Cocteau twin reunion; apparently Fraser didn’t want to be part of it anymore, according to a Guardian interview.

Moses is a nice single, but i think she is more powerful than this. It sounds like the song is not finished yet.

Just another Katy Perry Songs MTV Unplugged

Katy Perry's fancy, fashionable and ambitious "I Kissed A Girl" comes as live versions in her new MTV Unplugged album. These are better than the versions in her "One of the Boys" album. Personally I think Katy Perry is worth listening to for her live MTV performance.

The album features rearranged takes on hit songs like my favorite live song of her "I Kissed a Girl," "Waking Up In Vegas", and "Thinking of You" as well as two brand-new songs, Perry's version of Fountains of Wayne's "Hackensack" and a previously-leaked original song called "Brick by Brick."

Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl (live)

New Album: Asobi Seksu - Rewolf (2009)

"Rewolf" is included with 10 great acoustic version of previously released Asobi Seksu songs. The result is the darkest Asobi Seksu record! When I first listened "Hush", i thought this band was one of the best alternative bands around. "Gliss" (from Hush), "New Years" (from Citrus) have been amazing , with Japanese female singer Yuki Chikudate's soft and gentle voice. Also, I didnt like the cover of Hope Sandoval's "Suzanne".

I find every-day indie rock bands very boring. Asobi Seksu, however gives an impression that you have at least discovered something different. Anyway, I love the re-recorded songs.

mp3: Asobi Seksu - Gliss

Vampire Weekend "Horchata" and "Cousins" MP3

American indie rock band Vampire Weekend got the fame with first self-titled album. "Contra" is second album that I'm excited to listen once it leaks. Two singles "Horchata" and "Cousins" are already previously released from upcoming "Contra". "Cousins" was released November 17, 2009 and a 10" is slated for December 15, 2009. The album will be released on Jannuary 11 UK, 11 US 2010. You can download Horchata by signing on their webpage. For "Cousins", you can download here:

Arctic Monkeys: "Cornerstone" 2009

This is not out of date post, i just couldnt find right time to post new Arctic Monkeys single. The second song from their third album "Hambug". This version is from "Cornerstone - 10" Ep, there are also bonus tracks like "Catapult" (not R.E.M.), "Sketchead" (The song calls The Fiery Furnaces all over) and "Fright Lined Dining Room" I love "Cornerstone" which is a sweet melody you can listen these autumn days. Arctic Monkeys never changed their charming music since their first album , the song is unique! 8/10

Laura Veirs: "July Flame" MP3

New Laura Veirs song, it's been very haunting like every Laura Veirs song. The artists touches lyrics and they come alive. "Galaxies" still plays in my head, "July Flame" searches another place in my head to settle. The good song should have your interest on first listen, then you want to listen it over and over again. I dont know you, but "July Flame" got my interest all over.

Laura Veirs seventh album, July Flame, will be released in January 2010 on her own record label Raven Marching Band Records (in North America) and on Bella Union (in Europe and the rest of the world).

Beach House "Norway" - new song!

Music blogs love gorgeous Beach House. After self-titled debut Beach House and second Lp Devotion, Teen Dream is third record by Baltimore duo Beach House. Teen Dream will be released on January 26, 2010, i listened all the songs from the internet leak. If you are Beach House fan i'm sure you aware of the first song "Used To Be" . It's starting like heartbeats and the song is actually like heart of the album. "Norway" is the next song which is still consists of lush Beach House melodies throughout. The new album is quite nice, you can find a song to fall in love with. My favorite song of the album becomes "Lover Of Mine" that makes you rest in the autumn with a cup of coffee. 7.5/10

Backstreet Boys Release New Music Video for “Bigger”

Check out the new music video from the Backstreet Boys for their song "Bigger." As a song being featured on the group's brand new album titled THIS IS US, "Bigger" showcases the Boys' trademark softer side while using the bright lights of Tokyo as a stunning backdrop.

The 11 songs that make up THIS IS US are the sounds of four skilled singers with a similar vision who have dealt with the trials and tribulations that accompany fame at an early age and who came out as one of the most successful groups of all time. From the undeniably catchy lead single, "Straight Through My Heart," to the reflective soar of "Bigger," from the hook-crazy "Bye Bye Love" to the romantic yearning of "She's A Dream," THIS IS US shows remarkable growth as songwriters and continues to give us songs that have made millions smile.

Tegan & Sara: "Hell" music video and mp3 download

Tegan & Sara need to be happy with what they've got on their new album "Sainthood". Because it's full of fun and great music. "Hell" is their the most recent single that makes my day playing on my music player over and over. Look at their cover on the right, they look very happy. I should recommend you to listen their Sainthood album. The songs are short, however they're very sweet! 8/10

Brett Anderson: "Slow Attack" 2009 NEW RECORD

Slow Attack' is Brett Anderson's third solo album since the breakup of Suede and The Tears, with the latter on a seemingly permanent hiatus.

After the release of two instrumentally stark and haunting solo albums (‘Brett Anderson’ and ‘Wilderness’), ‘Slow Attack’ presents Brett Anderson in a lighter mood, returning to a fuller musical sound with songs featuring woodwind, strings and even the odd hurdy gurdy and glass keyed marimba.

The songs have a lighter, uplifting feel and showcase Brett’s voice at its very best. Produced and co-written by multi instrumentalist Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, David Holmes), the album is already being rated as highly as Brett’s former band Suede’s early ‘Dog Man Star’ album.

'Feral Harmonic'- Old Canes

I've found a definite contender for Album of the Year (at least in my book). Appleseed Cast's frontman Christopher Crisci has written a series of songs that are as exuberant as they are meaningful. This entire album is fun, wild, beautiful, and raw. At no point does it feel overproduced, nor does it feel under-polished. 'Little Bird Courage' is the album stand-out, and as cheesy as this may sound, it really does make me feel like I can do anything every time I hear it. It is genuine inspiration condensed into an all too brief and volant four minutes. This is a must-hear song!

The Saturdays keep up the good work with "Forever Is Over"

There are lots of nice example of teen-pop music Britney Spears, All Saints, one of the most famous girl bands Destiny's Child and favorite girl power band Spice Girls. And they were selling a lot once in a while. After than that, girl power grow with Sugababes and The Pussycat Dolls which reached to successful career. Don't forget the golden female groups such as TLC and En Vogue. English The Saturdays got my attention their wide music sound, and they are sure with one thing. They will do it! Chasing Lights (2008) has been amazing debut including memorable hits "Up", "Work" and "If This Is Love". Believe me there are many good songs in this album. Very new song "Forever Is Over" expanding their success and it's nice pop music. Forever cute! 7/10

Echo & The Bunnymen: "The Fountain"

Eleventh Echo & The Bunnymen recordThe Fountain is due to be released on 12 October 2009, tomorrow! The first single "Think I Need It Too" grows on you after several spin. Ian McCulloch's voice is so striking here, and no need top mention thunderous guitar chords, I think this is better than previous releases of them after millennium ( "Siberia" and "Flowers"). Soft voice of McCulloch gets you in any how. I also love the song order, because you start to listen glorious first single ""Think I Need It Too"" then it changes to soft rock track "Forgotten Fields"."Everlasting Neverendless" is the key track in my opinion. Coldplay singer Chris Martin has collaborated on the song "The Fountain" which is the title track , it has been very nice and blue rock song.

Stream: Echo & The Bunnymen - The Fountain

La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy review

"Bulletproof" was so powerful hits of the year, "I'm Not Your Toy" is less ambitious. However, its sweet sound makes it almost your favorite La Roux song. Songs dont have to be same. If Bulletproof is stylish, then this is well-sugared La Roux.

This is nice electronic-pop music, La Roux releases one of the best albums of 2009. Lyrics about some love-bug yelling about to his lover "I'm not your Toy". This is about a lover wants you as a material next to him or her. This time, we remember Madonna's "Material Girl".

Bulleeeetproof! 8.5/10

Blind Melon made me a "Lemonade" and Nico said "These Days", El Perro del Mar did write a song about "Change of A Heart" and Eric Matthews' that broken voice reminds me when i first fell in love with "Little 18". Editors - Papillon mp3

Editors releases their third studio album "In This Light And On This Evening" (out on Oct. 13 in the U.K.) after Back Room and An End Has a Start, Papillon is the first single to make us remember Joy Division and U2 blended sound once again. It's dark and i think they added 80s synth pop genre to their influence list expect pop-punk bands such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division... The new song has also a video which you can watch at prefixmag. It's been a dark song with the sound.

New Hit Song "Celebration" by Madonna

On Madonna's new hottest song, you see similarity between Andy Warhol designed Marilyn Monroe picture right away. This was the first important thing to ignore Madonna once again. Because we already know who is Andy Warhol or Marilyn Monroe and Madonna.

However my reason writing about his song is great lyrics. The lyrics look very simple to me at first listen like any pop song singing 'Let's Get It Started'. After a while, i realized that it's fulfilled with great lyrics telling about new generation, fashion and lifestyle. That's why Madonna rocks. She's so intelligent even if her music started to suck long time ago.

For me, "Celebration" tells how we turned to only-party persons. We change our clothes to be showy, and everything becomes show in our lifes. We gonna only party, and for some reason we see a hesitation about our feelings what is wrong or what is right. We only gonna party and it's a celebration like Madonna sings.

The Raveonettes - "Last Dance" Single Review

'If this is the last dance/if this is the last dance/Then save it for me baby'

The Raveonettes releases their latest record "In & Out of Control" on October 6th 2009. First single becomes "Last Dance", like every The Raveonettes song which doesnt know how to feel, happy, sad, ironic, teasing... you decide how does it feel. Melody exploding like sun, however lyrics seem a little sad.

This music reminds me a lot noise pop bands such as: My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Sonic Youth, Jesus and Mary Chain, and maybe Galaxie 500. Sharin Foo's hairstyle is very similar to Velvet Underground's icon member Nico in press photos.

They'd asked to the audience to title the upcoming album. I don't like when artist asks for making a video or album-title. Because it sounds like they are not serious about the album. They better not to ask audience how to do things. As guitarist, singer and instrumentalist Sune Rose Wagner reported us 'We never asked our audience for anything, that's a wrong statement! We know what we want and don't need any help' I have to say sorry for the mess, before i get a bashing from Sune. So this is the last dance! 6/10

I promised not to listen genious musician anymore. However i couldnt give up my bad habits. Two new single (they're previously released and these two songs are new versions “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses” backed with “The Hollow Earth” released at 21th September. I was not in a rush to write something. I listened more than ten times these horrowful tracks. The results are amazing. The Hollow Earth” is also one of the best songs from his solo record The Eraser. Dont let a clever dick blog change your taste in music, listen and decide yourself:

Uk #1 Single: Pixie Lott – Boys And Girls

Rihanna meets rebel pop singer Pink and "Boys and Girls" is a song recorded by English singer–songwriter Pixie Lott. It acts as the second single from her debut studio album, Turn It Up. It was released digitally in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2009 as an iTunes EP which was followed by an iTunes single on 6 September. A physical copy was released on 7 September. The song was the second number one single by Lott in the United Kingdom topping the charts in September.

New Single: Richard Hawley "For Your Lover Give Some Time"

For me he's 21th century's Elvis Presley, Richard Hawley released five great records thus far. Coles Corner (2005) is his the golden classic record which includes all the love from Scott Walker, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash he blends these names well with his style. "For Your Lover Give Some Time" is the new single from the sixth studio album "Truelove's Gutter" which is inspired by the dark moments of Richard Hawley's memories. I feel some John Lennon atmosphere when I'm listening this song more and more. Not great as the song "Hotel room" which is included "Coles Corner" album. You love this very much, if you like blue songs. 8/10

Download New Mika "We Are Golden" and Video

Welcome to Mika's colorful and dreamy world!!! He sings "We Are Golden", his teenage dreams in a teenage circus. Mika is self-confident to express his feelings, and he thinks that he's golden. That's for sure Mika loves glitter and boxers. We are not what you think we are/ We are golden/ we are golden. Yes Mika, you're right that appearance doesnt give a full opinion of the personality.

Video of "We Are Golden" is yellow, green, red, blue and golden. Best parf of it, I loved the golden shoes!

Massive Attack is too cool for dark music, they call this style as trip-hop. Whenever i hear thw word "trip-hop", Portishead comes to my mind. However this is Massive Attack's new song "Splitting the Atom ". England based electronica trio search how to splitting the Atom. Hey it may be the end of the world, The Cure help us!

"PAX-AM Digital Single No. 1" by Ryan Adams

PAX-AM Digital Single No. 1 is a digital-only single by singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, released on Septeber 11, 2009 on Adams' own label, PAX-AM. Lost And Found reminded me Robyn Hitchcock & The Egyptians songs from Queen Elvis which is a great album. You can download "Wax Doll" below and you will see the similar voice of Robyn Hitchcock and Ryan Adams.

The single comprises two previously unreleased tracks, "Lost and Found" and "Go Ahead and Rain".

New Video from Glasvegas!

There's a new video to go with Glasvegas' second single, 'It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry'. I love that brogue but he's almost impossible to understand! Nonetheless, I think this is my favorite Glasvegas song, other than 'Cruel Moon' on the Christmas EP. Bono called it "one of the best songs (he's) ever heard". Give the video a watch....

Joan As Police Woman: "Overprotected" (Britney Spears cover)

A violinist and singer/songwriter, godgiven voice, cinderella of indie rock, Joan Wasser covers Britney Spears' mega hit "Overprotected". For my first listen, i can't believe my ears, because this is a great cover song. Upcoming album "Cover" already surprised me with its nasty artwork which features a big hip and a ring.

Britney Spears song "Overprotected" has been little far away from its teen pop melody by Joan As Police Woman. "What am I to do with my life?/How am I supposed to know what's right?" These lyrics find soul by her velvet voice. 8.5/10

Sugababes: "Get Sexy" Hit New Song

That's for sure it's not chart topper such as Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feelin' or Kanye West (I think Kanye sucks with his recent songs), Rihanna and Jay-z collaborate "Run This Town". They singing "Too sexy in this Club". I remember when Sugababes are three little girl singing their first great hit "Overload". Now they sound between The Black Eyed Peas and Missy Elliott with "Get Sexy". However, this nasty disco-pop hit works well!

Muse song "Uprising" from The Resistance

"Uprising" is a song by English solid alternative rock band Muse from their upcoming "The Resistance" LP which drives me crazy for one reason. I hate to write that they borrows from Queen or Chopin. Because they simply don't borrow, they take same melody of Queen. I'm talking about the song " United States Of Eurasia (+Collateral Damage)", yes it's been a song like borrowing from everywhere. It's like songs which have taken melodies of a band's recent playlists. They listen some songs, and try to put lyrics on, then here it comes another album.

Nelly Furtado: "Manos al Aire"

She hit the music world with "I'm Like a Bird", and with her latest song "Manos al Aire" hits #1 on Billboard.

I'm listening her fourth studio album and first full Spanish language consists of eleven spanish songs. She collaborates musicians such as: Alejandro Fernandez, Josh Groban, Juan Luis Guerra, Julieta Venegas, La Mala Rodriguez, Buika And Alex Cuba.

After her disco pop hit "Maneater" (2006), this song "Manos al Aire" has been quite soothing melody.

New "The Mountain Goats" song and new album!!!

Favorite indie folk dude John Darnielle had to say about the new record:

"I guess the obvious question is going to be: 'John, have you had some sort of religous awakening?' and while I guess lots of people might want to be coy about answering that, that's never really my style, so: no. It's not like that. It's not some heavy-narrative-distance deal either, though, and it's not a screed. It's twelve new songs: twelve hard lessons the Bible taught me, kind of. More than that I'd want to wait to say until some people have heard it, which won't be long. Will there be more news soon, quite soon? Like, next week, even? Oh yes there will!"

The album also features Final Fantasy's Owen Pallett. I'm loving the latest song release "Genesis 3:23" which you can download below.
