In The Year 2525

I wanted to live in the year 2525, it would help me to break free! Or, it's just my imagination on 10 o'clock while I was trying to kill bugs in my kitchen! I always enjoyed for the 1980s weird, disco-like music. The artwork above is created by me. I know that I have to see my doctor. Enjoy!

Interpol – “Barricade” video

'In the latest video from New York City's Interpol, singer Paul Banks's head is projected onto various torsos. The rest of the band play their instruments in a field. It's not as creepy as their last video. It was directed by Moh Azima. Also: (spoiler alert) balloons!' Pitchfork

"Thank You For Your Love" by Antony and the Johnsons

Antony and the Johnsons released another nice song from Thank You for Your Love EP. It made me to remember any good songs of them such as "Kiss My Name", "Fistful of Love", even "Hope There's Someone" while I am listening to the song. A woman-like voice, Antony Hegarty sings in an emotional way thousand times 'Thank you for you love'. It must be a bitter love story which is very influential for the songwriter. Is it a matter of being of thankful or hateful we do not know for sure. But he wrote this song in very sensible moments. Otherwise, it would not repeat these words for too many times. 7/10

The video can be seen here.

A Good Speaker Will Make You Love Music

When I was very young and going to primary school I started to discover various kinds of music. In the old days I use to record songs onto tape and then make my friend listen to them on my tape recorder. I didn’t have any good sound system and so I adapted by buying a speaker from a car part seller and connecting it to my old radio. It those days it wasn’t great, but it worked, and I would dance in the garden with my friends listening to the Spice Girls.

As I grew older I realised that in any sound system, quality depends on the speakers. The best recording encoded on the most advanced storage device like tapes, CD’s and DVD’s and played by a deck and amplifier will sound awful if connected to a poor speaker. It is essential to choose a good speaker that will produce high quality sound and which has high frequency levels.

Technology has changed and these days there are various speakers to choose from such as a floor standing speaker, a subwoofer, or a satellite system speaker. When it comes to the sound a good speaker should produce clear, natural and lively sound with no distortion, and almost give the impression that you are listening to a live performance.

When I review an album it is only fair that I consider the beats, layers, every single melody, and I can only do this by having a good quality speaker. My favourite music is rock and alternative music which often needs to be listened to very loud or you may not be able to enjoy it. I can listen to some of my favourites, Brian Eno, David Sylvian, El Perro Del Mar, Beach House and close my eyes, let the music travel to my ears, and visualise that I am there when the artist first produced the album.

I really can’t imagine ever going back to listening to music on my old tape recorder!

If you are looking to purchase speakers its worth looking on vouchercodes.co.uk who currently have some great offers for money off at Comet.- Modern Music

The National song: "Conversation 16"

The National are a Brooklyn-based indie rock band and with their new record "High Violet" there are quite more famous then they used to be. I listen to the song almost everytime when I put some music on. "Conversation 16" is very favorable new song of them. I did some research about the new record:

High Violet sold 51,000 copies in its first week of sales, charting at #3 on the Billboard 200. This marks The National's highest charting effort yet (beating Boxer, which debuted at #68).

It's not hard to say that they are quite well-known band from now on. I heard their song played while I was buying some records at HMV store. Well I afraid to share the song due to copyright. However I will share because I don't care if they are more popular now. (Some bands do not want their songs shared after they become famous.)

Roll Deep - "Green Light" Number 1 Uk Hit

When it is summertime, we know number hits are uselly club-like, dance songs with strong beats and memorable lyrics. It's not Black Eyed Peas song, but it completely reminds the music of them. One powerful female vocal and rap breaks throughout the song. In the end, it is quite favorable and deserves number 1 place in the official uk charts. review by The MM

The Wanted All Time Now

I like to spread the word on new boy band. All time low is an upbeat pop song that puts a smile on your face when you hear on the radio. The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 1 August 2010.

Buy the song on iTunes
You can also Download it.

Kula Shaker best reviewed new album "Pilgrim's Progress"

Some of you may remember their good debut record K, including very nice britpop hits like "Tattva", "Govinda" and many more.

Fresh and easygoing new record "Pilgrim's Progress" has been well received by fans and critics alike, and I think that it really deserves some good criticism. Opening song "Peter Pan R.I.P", which is also the first single, provides the best vocals and orchestral music. Lush and bright melodies stays the same throughout the whole record.

"Pilgrim's Progress" is a good experience for britpop fans. 7/10

You can listen the songs "Only Love", "Figure It Out", "Peter Pan R.I.P" on Kula Shaker myspace.

Walkmen's new album "Lisbon" and a free download

I was listening to their records "Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me Is Gone" and "A Hundred Miles Off " and good news they releases another record.

Lisbon will be coming out in the U.K. on October 11th on Bella Union Records. It will be out in the U.S. on September 14th on Fat Possum Records. You can download for free a song of their which sounds like a hymn. Go the link and download the "Stranded" clicking just over there on the right.

Interpol - Lights

"Lights" was released to download for free on their website, originally in May 2010 with an accompanying video released in June 2010. This album will be the band's last effort with original bassist Carlos Dengler as he left shortly after the album's completion. The lead single "Barricade" is scheduled to be released on August 3, 2010. I believe that self-titled forth studio album sounds quite good. A fan should check it out!
