Popular Rock Hits From 90s
I won't give up listening to these songs even if everyone knows them. Why you have to be someone else? Why do you give up listening to songs that made commercial success? Does it make you special? I asked these questions to myself, and I only listen what i like. Everything is pop. Pop is everything.

1. R.E.M. - Losing My Religion
Much was made of the meaning of the title "Losing My Religion" among inquiring pop fans.
Was it an old Southern saying? Gibberish? Or an admission of something more personal by
singer and lyricist Michael Stipe? In the end, it didn't really matter, as R.E.M. took all the elements that made their previous efforts great and found themselves with a worldwide hit. The sound of gently plucked acoustic instruments, at once traditional and contemporary, and a strong sense of melody, made for the ultimate song from an already great band. Mike Mills recounted in an interview that in Israel the song was referred to as "O Life," referring to the first line of the song; in the U.S., the band scored its first Top Five hit. The album from which it was taken, Out of Time, eventually made it to number one; an accompanying video won all the top honor awards a video could that year. If R.E.M. hadn't yet charted on the radar for some folks, "Losing My Religion" ensured the band a place in pop history when it became the ubiquitous song during the summer of 1991. Amg Review

2. Radiohead - Paranoid Android
Paranoid Android absolutely makes Thom Yorke a better singer, but beauty of the song comes
from its alternative flowings, passages. Three section during the song; beginning, middle and
ending. With this song, you'll realize the best reason why you should listen to Radiohead. Because you don't need to do anything, just let it play!

3. Simply Red - Stars
Simply Red's records are maybe not my bag. The band released another great hits such as "Fairground", "If You Don't Know Me By Now". Stars was truly top of the band, sometimes simple songs are very hard to write. Stars takes simplicity and goes with the choruses which invites you to sing along.

4. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares To You
Logging the highest level of chart performance for any single in 1990, Irish singer Sinéad
O'Connor's cover of the Prince composition "Nothing Compares 2 U" catapulted her from a
college-radio favorite into international stardom, to which she responded with passionate,
controversial political stands and increasingly erratic behavior.

7. Nirvana - In Bloom
"In Bloom" was a cryptic attack on Nirvana's more clueless fans, embodied in a working-class Joe who "likes all our pretty songs/And he likes to sing along/And he likes to shoot his gun/But he don't know what it means."
