Alanis Morissette - Flavors of Entanglement (2008)

Rating: 4/10
Alanis Morissette was one of stars of the mid-'90s, with her only good record and debut Jagged Little Pill (1995). All I Really Want, You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket, Head over Feet, Ironic are all classic Alanis songs from this record. Then, during 15 years she only sing these songs live, because other records are already unplugged or acustic record for these same songs. Then Alanis Morissette decided to cut her very long hair, she released a colorless album, it was So-Called Chaos (2004). It didn't get any attention again.

Flavors Of Entanglement is title of the new album. This sounds almost horrible horror films, starting some songs like lame industrial music. Then, it rapidly slows down with a few love song such as Not As We, Torch. It goes to slow down and down. With the song Moratorium, the sound changes to oriental music and dark beats again. And also lyrics are so common. I don't get it why the records are so terrible in these days.

Highlights: Straitjacket, Moratorium
