The Verve - Forth (2008)

Rating:6.5/10
It's exciting to hear Verve's new Forth. Fourth The Verve album is called forth. Opener song "Sit and Wonder" revives my disappointment on bands which have good careers in past. Like flopping new albums of The Who, Echo and the Bunnymen, Radiohead, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream and The Smashing Pumpkins, The Verve stands parallel to this britpop curse. We may sit and wonder why current music doesn't satisfy enough.

Radio-welcoming Love Is Noise, epic Sit and Wonder, dreamy Judas, torpid Numbness, glorious I See Houses...BBC summarises ''The band sound unbelievably healthy here.' I don't know what is healty about a band, but Richard Ashcroft surrenders his unwilling vocals since his solo Keys to the World (2006). I have an opinion that i'm listening to this record because it's The Verve. And Still liquid tracklist makes soft The Verve's music and provides magical moments of britpop days. This is more quality recording compared to 90s britpop music.

Forth has same message all over the songs, recording a new album after those years can be painful sometimes. Other than this, full and long songs, strong guitar chords. Yes, they're back.
Highlights: Sit and Wonder, Love Is Noise, Judas, I See Houses
