Iggy Pop TV Eye - Live 77

From cduniverse:
Although Iggy Pop's previous band, the legendary Stooges, were the subject of several live albums (many were contractual obligations of varying sound quality), Iggy's first officially released live album was 1978's TV Eye Live. Iggy is backed by a fine group of musicians, including none other than David Bowie on keyboards, and Tony and Hunt Sales on bass and drums (the two would join Bowie in the '80s as part of his Tin Machine project), all of whom augment Pop's savage rock perfectly. Recorded during several stops on his 1977 comeback tour, TV Eye Live helped connect the proto-punk rock of Iggy's early days with the industrial grind of his late-'70s work.

Included are several inspired renditions of such Stooges standards as the opening "TV Eye," "I Got A Right," the minimalist crawl of "Dirt" and the sleaze anthem "I Wanna Be Your Dog."
Other highlights include selections from Iggy's solo recordings--the supercharged "Lust For Life" (a hit nearly 20 years later when featured in the film Trainspotting), "Funtime," "Sixteen" and "Nightclubbing." Fairly short for a live album (barely 36 minutes long), TV Eye Live is a breathless, adrenaline-charged shot of Iggy Pop that will leave many craving for more.

Iggy Pop - Lust For Life
Iggy Pop - Sixteen
Iggy Pop - I Wanna Be Your Dog

Robert Wyatt - Comicopera

Review a record... A review should be about what? I know one thing about the critics, they suck! If i found my favorite record by listening all the records i could listen, believing in a review would be for losing time. In the end, we all are going to listen what we like. This is sad music, Wyatt's voice has always been sad for me, i know some people hate to be in deep thougths, they just ignore truths. I love gloomy records, they look as what they are, and Robert Wyatt is a main reason to drown in deep thougths, dreams, your lovers... Anyway, this is great form of rock music, it's honest and Comicopera knows hot to impress listeners, from beginning to the end it's perfect music when you're brooding on your confident sofa.

Robert Wyatt - Stay Tuned (mm pick!)
Robert Wyatt - Just As You Are

Modern English - I Melt With You

I love 80s section in this blog, hope you like too. I thought that it was better copy and paste the great amg song review about this nice song. Ok you'll like the tune, actually i've a lot of good songs to post on this blog, you know i love sharing, but every little post takes time. So keep reading!

"I Melt With You" was never a Top Ten or even a Top 40 hit -- it peaked at number 76 in July 1990 -- but it's one of the most recognized songs of the new wave era. Originally released in the U.K. in 1982, the song was a minor hit in the U.S. in the spring and summer of 1983 -- thanks, in part, to being the love theme of the cult hit Valley Girl. (It was used in the mid-movie montage as well as over the end credits.) The song's strummy up-tempo beat, vocalist Robbie Grey's English drawl, and the ultimately positive, us-against-the world chorus made the tune a hit in dance clubs and on pop radio. In 1989, Modern English slightly revamped the song and re-released it, but it again failed to crack the Top 40. Several years later, the track was used in a Burger King TV ad in an attempt to attract the Gen-X market. Despite the fact that it never broke through to mainstream success, "I Melt With You" endures as a watermark for 1980s optimism and sentimentality, and as a classic pop song that never quite got the accolades it deserved. The Raveonettes - Lust Lust Lust - Review

Fueled by a fascination with America's vintage cultural landscape and a musical obsession with the Jesus & Mary Chain, Danish duo the Raveonettes have been making minimalist version of garage-rock since the early 2000s.

On their self-produced, self-recorded new record Lust Lust Lust, they start to hypnotize listeners with the first three tracks, but sorry the rest of them are a bit mess. I couldn't even concentrate on what they're playing...? This is exactly the same with Jesus and Mary Chain, their mega hits such as April Skies, Some Candy Talking... It's not a disappointment, though, because The Raveonettes weren't mainstream rock band. Yeah, their noises are impressing sometimes freezing, and we saw many original examples of this kind of noisy pop like Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Velvet Underground, Suicide and more... So download it, maybe you like it, what i'm sure is this is not our best music for you.

Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga

The MM Review
Rating: 9/10
Yeah, it's Spoon, with wounded vocals of Britt Daniel, combining very sweet guitar hormonies, hailing from Austin, TX. Every song is quite adorable for a boring sunday, moreover the record can be your hero during a very monoton sunday. The following day, you know that you have to go to work, but why those bastards let you be on your own. Then, you have a better idea for the reason, it's time to listening rock music at heart. These are the things you can find in Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. Or, you can just see it as a great music. This depends to how much you want to get from music. The new record Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga got my atttention after downloading it three months later, that sounds quite interesting, i'm sure it's because of the band is growing on me. What are you waitin' for, go and buy the record.

Spoon - My Little Japanese Cigarette Case (mm pick!)
Spoon - The Underdog (mm pick!)
Spoon - Eddie's Ragga

Blind Melon - Soup

Soup deserved to be another big hit, but due to MTV and radio's abrupt abandonment of the band, harsh reviews from close-minded critics, and worst of all, Hoon's untimely death mid-tour, all hopes of the album receiving the attention it deserved were extinguished. Soup is one of the most underrated and overlooked great rock albums of the '90s.

Blind Melon - Galaxie
Blind Melon - 2 x 4

The Chromatics - In Shining Violence

Here's a Seattle based great indie rock band that i've just discovered, The Chromatics. Their robotic vocals can be so druggy and alcoholic. Somebody put their to oil some alcohol? Anyway, you'll love this record if you are interested in dark disco melodies.

Pitchfork says It's the best new music, don't believe to them!
Like labelmates Glass Candy, the Chromatics recently ditched their early aggro/noise-punk beginnings. Switching labels from the art-rock institution Troubleman Unlimited to the sleeker Italians Do It Better imprint (both founded by New Jersey resident Mike Simonetti), the trio's gone even darker, feeding sultry, minimal disco-punk through spidery horror flick synths and scuffed guitars. Debuting this sound on last year's Shining Violence CD-R, and continuing it on the retro-electro IDIB comp After Dark and a series of 12"s, Chromatics tighten up their songwriting on Night Drive, finally giving their desolate, shadow-lurking disco the melodic bite it only hinted at previously.

Dead Kennedys - Milking The Sacred Cow: Review

Dead Kennedys were the most popular and respected American punk rock band with hits such as ‘Holiday In Cambodia’, ‘California Uber Alles’ and ‘Police Truck’. Over the years, their catalogue has sold millions of units. Now, for the first time since the release of “Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death”, Dead Kennedys have compiled their best-known recordings into
one glorious package. The brand-new track-listing also includes other favourites such as ‘Kill The Poor’ and ‘Viva Las Vegas’ and two previously unreleased live tracks. This gorgeous release in addition to being the ideal package for existing loyal fans, also serves as a fresh and compact introduction to this legendary and celebrated band.

Fresh Rock Music

New Singles
1. Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch (Hot Chip Remix)
Hot Chip's remix for Liverpool outfit Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch", from a forthcoming UK single, gives the song some exotic color without taking its eyes off of the dancefloor. The original, pulled from excellent album The Witching Hour to become Pitchfork's #28 single of 2005, was shivery, gale-force synthpop.

2. Chromatics - I'm On Fire

3. Shout Out Louds - Impossible

4. Serj Tankian - Empty Walls [Youtube Video]

5. Jimmy Eat World - Big Casino

6. Richard Hawley – Serious [Youtube Video]

8. Blood Red Shoes – I Wish I Was Someone Better [Youtube Video]

9. Timbaland & OneRepublic – Apologize [Youtube Video]

10. Velvet Revolver - The Last Fight [Youtube Video]
A very boring song from a very boring rock band, they're decided to fuck my ears like Celine Dion and James Blunt did before with the song.

Hurricane Jane by Black Kids was the hottest new single of previous week.

Radiohead - In Rainbows Review

The MM Review
Rating: 8.0

Without doubt, In Rainbows will include in many the best of 2007 lists, because it came in right time with a right revolution that we can download the whole record paying how much we want to pay. Thom Yorke's first solo record came last year, The Eraser. It was quite far away from being an apparent record. Thanks to other members Greenwoods, Ed O'Brien, Phil Selway, and our depressed electronic boy Tom Yorke, this has been almost flawless record for the upcoming winter and autumn. There are many key tracks, and acustic sweets in, In Rainbows, you want to think about rains, rainbows, clouds and cold. Yep, this ain't a guitar driven, upbeat rock record. There is one thing missing In Rainbows that it sounds too heavy many times. However, don't expect too much from a band who created records like The Bends and Ok Computer at past. Etheral music in front of Yorke's painfull vocal sounds adorable at times. Once you've discovered the hypnotic opener 15 step, the following noisier piece Bodysnatchers, theatrical tune All I Need, there is no way out you'll love this record. Despite its nothing's new concept, everything is okey, nothing is spotty, this is the best Radiohead since OK Computer.

MM picks: 15 Step, All I need, Jigsaw Falling into Place

You can download the tunes from The Official In Rainbows

Beach Boys - Pet Sounds

There's a cool thing about this post, i don't know exactly the reason, though. For a while, i was listening Pet Sounds in my dreams, like it's saying that you should post something about the record. After seeing this weird dream more than three times, i thought that i should post something magical about this magical record. Most of you know Beach Boys, and hell yes they're some kind legendary, coolly band. Connection between nostalgic sounds and orchestral vocals are almost perfect in Pet Sounds. It's one of those rare records can be marked as one of the most original concept records. These four tracks are the standout tracks for those readers who haven't met them yet. Pets are always cool, so Beach Boys too.

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Beach Boys - Hang On To Your Ego (MM pick!)
The Beach Boys - That's Not Me (MM pick!)
The Beach Boys - God Only Knows

Radiohead - In Rainbows

As you've known, Radiohead released In Rainbows on October 10th. Most of the songs on In Rainbows have been played live by the band for some time, and versions of them are widely available on the Internet. I have an idea about Radiohead's been an overdone band, we always excited about Radiohead's new records, but please what is this exaggeration? This is just a band, and there are many of them out there who wait for being discovered. Babbler me, i'll write something makes sense about the new record. It sounds great, just try to grab some tunes from MM. I'm not a pirate, though.

Tracklist:
1. 15 Step (MM Pick!)
2. Bodysnatchers
3. Nude

Best New Rock Music

New Singles
1. Black Kids - Hurricane Jane (Beige remix)
This is a great single that i've just discovered from p4K, and also you can download four songs of them from their Black Kids Myspace page. Great music, tripped me on 80s' glorious tunes and reminds voice of The Cure vocalist a little, Robert Smith.

2. Spoon - You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb
One reader got disappointed because i didn't nominate Spoon for The Best of 2007. Hey good reader! If you still read this blog, don't worry Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga will be one of our best record of 2007. Every single track is good in the record, yeah!

3. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Working with director Vincent Morisset, the band created a sharp interactive video piece for
the album's title track. It's a chance to go eyeball-to-eyeball with Win Butler as he sings, and you can fiddle with everything on the screen to produce different results with each play. You can play with his hands, move various objects, and touch his head to get a quote of whatever lyric he happens to be voicing at the moment.

4. Robert Pollard - The Killers

5. R.E.M. - Orange Crush [Youtube Live Video]
6. Maps – To The Sky
7. Mother & The Addicts – Attraction
8. Britney Spears - Gimme More
Ok she's a diva for me! I couldn't think of any list without Britney.9. Trembling Blue Stars – Exploring The Shadows
10. Arctic Monkeys – Teddy Picker

The extremely rare Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem split 7" single. This single is a collaboration from the current Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem 2007 U.S. tour. And you shouldn't miss these two tracks, as you know you can find some perfect tunes in those EPs. The two song are incredibly amazing, LCD Soundsystem did a great job by covering an amazing Joy Division song, the song is "No Love Lost,". It is a limited edition release and will not be sold in stores, so get it!

Blind Melon's New Record

Thank you! I've been recieving a lot of great words from you about my reviews on these nice bands, musicians and dudes. Yes, I do write some things about them, but please consider that my only thing is listening music, and that's what it is. As for Blind Melon, i'd loved their 1995 release Soup, i still have it. Before this writing, i googled about their new album and the only thing that i've found is they recorded the new album with a new singer, Shannon Hoon, Blind Melon vocalist, died on a tour bus on October 21st in a hotel parking lot in New Orleans.

This new records sounds like any Blind Melon record, but the song named with Tumblin Down really makes me feel good, i loved it. Sorry i can't share it because sharing all the tracks on a famous blog like MM brings lots of trouble with it. It's not very hard to find, though. You can do a google search:) By the way, the new singer becomes Travis Warren.

HIM - Venus Doom

According to frontman Ville Valo, the ultimate goal was to concoct a sound that combined My Bloody Valentine's Loveless with Metallica's Master of Puppets, and it sounds good when they seem to grow on guitars, lyrics and cover art. This is one of the best H.I.M. record yet, because they don't sound like dark as their first record, and also they improved themselves that this is not shit like previous Dark Light, but it's heavy goth rock in other ways. This eighth album is one of the coolest hard release of the year. Tracks like Sleepwalking Past Hope, Love In Cold Blood and great rock song Passion's Killing Floor prove Venus Doom's success without no doubt. On "Sleepwalking Past Hope," melody and atmosphere take you to the right place where music fans will be satisfied.

She Wants Revenge - This is Forever

*MM review
Rating:8.5
Los Angeles based dance rock duo She Wants Revenge are self-confident to expand their fans in the name of the sophomore effort This is Forever where many of them fixture influences appear. Yeah this is the extacly modern harvest of gothic bands like Joy Division, Bauhaus and plus to these synth pop's popular kids Depeche Mode. This is Forever borrows from Joy Divison classic record Closer, and you even want to listen again Decades, Twenty Four Hours, Sound of Music. This fits with their music well when She Want Revenge add glommy Ian Curtis vocals to their sound. It's not by chance finding great tracks like first single True Romance, Replacement and Written In Blood in the record. Worth a listen and sometimes it's fullfilled with energy, dark and romantism.

She Wants Revenge - Replacement (MM pick!)

His Name is Alive - Xmmer

His Name is Alive is well known for their ethereal, last night meditations but on this new amazing album the band picks straight up where last years Detrola left off. Pitchfork media gave Detrola an 8.5 and described it as "someone singing softly right in your ear".

Fad Gadget - Ricky's Hand

For all intents and purposes, Frank Tovey was best known as the man behind Fad Gadget, one of the most significant cult acts of the post-punk boom. As Fad Gadget, Tovey on the perils of and his revolving door of conspirators released several singles and four full-length albums that stretched the boundaries of pop music during the late '70s and early '80s. "Ricky's Hand" is a song by Fad Gadget, released as a single in 1980. Lyrically the song was a sardonic cautionary taledrink driving: "From the pocket it pulled five pound / Ricky bought another round… Ricky contravened the highway code / The hand lies severed at the side of the road". The cover of the original vinyl single showed the hand in question being burnt by drops of beer in the fashion of a corrosive warning symbol.

"True Love Will Never Fade" is the first single of Mark Knopfler's 5th solo album "Kill To Get Crimson". I loved the new Knopfler record which includes great rock ballads. "True Love Will Never Fade" is melodically super-similar to Springsteen's "If I Should Fall Behind" off Lucky Town.
