Franz Ferdinand - Tonight review
A cross album between two previous commercially and critially successful records of Glasgow based band. Franz Ferdinand follows the same direction like the previous singles, well-known hits. Tonight is hard to remember after my careful album spins. Third album is repetitive, and want to make you believe in that these are great songs!!! It never reaches to their nice self-titled debut. Fully commercial songs, plus Lucid Dreams and Ulysses are only remarkable tracks here.

"Take These Thoughts"- Chris and Thomas (2006)
If you've grown weary of listening to 'Merriweather Post Pavillion' (gasp! Is it possible?) and you're up for some quiet and haunting Southern indie folk, then give this song a listen. It's straight from my personal playlist and it's dark in that delicious thoughty kind of way, and lulling like a deep black river. It comes from the album 'Land of Sea' by Chris and Thomas.

The brand new album 'All The Plans' is available to pre-order now from the online store here. I'm listening the Ep right now. It's been kinda slow, dreamy songs. Boy In Waiting sounds great and Black Limousine is my favorite songs on the Boy In Waiting. No need to mention how good Starsailor is.

Merriweather Post Pavillion- Animal Collective (2009)
All over the internet people are arguing over whether ‘Merriweather Post Pavillion’ by Animal Collective is the album of the year or not. Personally I feel it might be tiny bit premature considering this is twenty-first day of the year, and years typically contain 365 days. I finally listened to the whole thing (stream the entire album here on NPR). My impressions are still forming. My first impression was that it was really awesome and great (this as I was listening to ‘In The Flowers’, the first track). After that things blurred together into most of an hour of noise and song blended into a slightly repetitious but experimentally earthy, jangly cocktail that makes me think of cymbal monkeys and the crazy, charged up mating displays of tropical birds.
Don’t get me wrong, each song stood on it’s own, but within individual songs the sound did lean towards monotony at times. Since it was all one stream I lost track of what song I was on, which was frustrating but not at all the band’s fault, as clearly the songs were meant to run together. I just can’t really review them individually (going back to the site to get the link I see now that the songs can be played one by one. Oh well.). I recognized ‘My Girls’, since it’s been popping up all over the place and I’ve heard it about ten times now. As stated above I really liked ‘In the Flowers’. I’d pay for that, certainly.
There were others that I liked too, but alas, I don’t know what they were. ‘No More Running’ was a very interesting song, with a watery shimmer cascading into an off-tune chorus that falls off like a waterfall into a gorge. ‘Brother Sport’ was featured on this site in December, and I do love the tribal dance feeling of it. If there’s one thing Animal Collective does not lack it’s unfettered creativity flowing out of boundless energy. They manage to pull together synthetic and natural, digital and vocal, and mash it all into a wild, almost hallucinogenic concoction.
It also didn’t help that the stream was messy and much rougher than a clean recording, and that ended up giving me a headache as I was listening. So beware when streaming. Anyway… as to whether it’s the best album of the year…. I’m not getting involved in that argument. Not just yet.
I give it a 8.5 out of 10. And I can be honest and say I might like it better if I’d heard a really clean version.
8.5/10

Neko Case: Middle Cyclone Preveiw, and Blogging for Charity
I'm so excited about the upcoming Neko Case album, "Middle Cyclone". From the snatches I've seen and heard, like the video she released of the making of the album, it's going to be truly great. Only time will tell! But for now here's the official leak of one of the new songs.
As a little background on the song; Case has made the offer that for every blog that posts this song $5 will be donated to the Best Friends Animal Society, and $1 will be donated for every iLike user that adds the song to their profile. More information here.

Antony & The Johnsons - The Crying Light
Listening tasty music won't be your end! The cover looks fucking good like thrown from a horror movie. Anyway, Allmusic posted tracklists, track picks plus giving 4.5 out of 5 to The Crying Light wihout review. I'm sure after a long break, The Crying Light satisfies enough. Top-notch!

The Parlor Mob- 'And You Were A Crow' (2008)
The band The Parlor Mob is making a hard hitting, howling kind of classic rock I don’t really hear at all in current music. Their album from last year is loud and exciting, carefully controlled and yet still wild, and it has a blaring pulse that borrows a lot from the past but which is updated and really relevant to now. It’s not indie rock, it’s not metal, or teen rock, nor the wimpy rock of modern rock bands. Their sound has been done, but it’s really unique and vibrant in the Mob’s hands. It’s a tribute band almost, but the tribute is all paid to the style and to the thrill of their own music. The singer’s voice ranges towards the weak side now the then—he sounds almost young and inexperienced compared to those classic sounding guitar riffs--but there’s so much passion being belted out with the lyrics that it’s really not a problem and his style just adds to the uniqueness of it. This album has a crazy amount of explosive potential behind it, and I find it kind of weird that I didn’t hear about it until the very end of last year and only then in passing mention. The album is ‘And You Were A Crow’ by The Parlor Mob.

Asobi Seksu - Hush
Brooklyn based band releases their third record. I missed the voice of Yuki Chikudate, her voice once again brooding, enchanting and surprising here. Their music doesn't copy, it's certain that Asobi Seksu try to create a different style with "Hush". Fascinating! Asobi Seksu ain't your avarage indie rock band, they follow different steps than other bands around. The new album "Hush" needs your interest to get the beauty of alternative rock music.
I can say that Asobi Seksu come with their best record, Hush will automatically hypnotizes you. Like any masterpiece Japan animation movies, this is one of kind, tasty and picky music. 9/10

Barry Adamson - People
2008 was a big year for Barry Adamson. Kicking it off in style with his latest and greatest album Back to the Cat, he then went on to a double whammy of sell-out UK dates in support of Back to the Cat – first as headliner during April and the second as lauded support to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at the start of May – followed by the infectious summer anthem, Straight ‘til Sunrise, in June coupled with a slew of triumphant festival performances here and abroad and a hugely successful sell-out tour of Australia.
I love striking artists like Barry Adamson, he's such a well-talented artist who never lost his ambition yet. Back to the Cat was one of my favorite albums in the 2008. "People" is the next single - a song that every soul on Earth can relate to for the coming cold, financial depression and ensuing SAD… A reminder that none of us are infallible. A reminder from which hope can spring eternal for change. One for making and breaking New Year’s resolutions to. Barry will also be busy this year with the coming Magazine reunion, scheduled for Feb 2009.

Lower Heaven
With a haunting sound and ominously reverb drenched melodies, Lower Heaven live up to their name which they've taken from an Echo and the Bunnymen lyric. Absorbing and reinterpreting influences like My Bloody Valentine, Hawkwind, and the Jesus and Mary Chain, the band has been able to defy constraints of genre classification by keeping the song writing, arrangement, instrumentation, and production of their work unconventional and innovative. Having finely tuned a sound that is very much their own, Lower Heaven have been turning the heads of their local peers, building a strong fan base, and creating a word of mouth buzz in Los Angeles for the past year.
Just got the press release and i got so many emails thanks for love, everything. It's very hard to read and check all of your requests. If i've the power, i write about every great band who waits to reach more fans.
Lower Heaven seems very powerful, dizzy band. Lose it All at Once is an amazing, emotinal song.

Morrissey - Years Of Refusal
Morrissey will release “Years of Refusal” in the US February 17, 2009 on Attack/Lost Highway. It will be Morrissey’s first studio album since 2006’s “Ringleader of the Tormentors”. To be honest i was not amazed with “Ringleader of the Tormentors”. "Years of Refusal" makes my letdown double up.
Yeah he's Morrissey, and he needs to sit and listen his own record to notice how boring it is. All You Need Is Me, I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris and That's How People Grow Up are few nice tracks here. That's all.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion (2009)
On November 18, the track "Brother Sport" was leaked onto the internet by way of its inclusion in a French music podcast. The track was subsequently posted on many blogs, including Pitchfork, and now it's posted on this blog. I like Animal Collective's songs, however i think that this album is very overrrated. I see that most of critics love this album by giving high ratings. For me, this is another interesting and nice Animal Collective record, there is nothing beyond. By the way, i don't like the stupid album cover, it's a kind of trick for primary school students. "Brother Sport" is the best song from Merriweather Post Pavilion.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart
I've discovered this amazing band recently. Alex, Kip, Kurt, and Peggy formed the Pains of Being Pure at Heart in 2007. They're all from New York. This is amazing indie pop, shoegaze or noise pop music or whatever you call it. Their self-titled album set to be released on Feb 3, 2009. For love of My Bloody Valentine, The Wedding Present and Teenage Funclub, you should check this band. The song is the single from The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart album.

Robyn Hitchcock Goodnight Oslo
“The album, in part, celebrates the ghosts of the smoke age, and the various ways they were wrecked but still sailed on. That’s the way it is with humans. You could call it the comfort of doom. Goodnight Oslo is a vortex that I am still leaving.”
The ten new Hitchcock compositions that comprise Goodnight Oslo mark another milestone in the Englishman’s iconoclastic catalog. His remarkable body of recordings spans more than three decades, beginning with his seminal late-’70s work with post-punk psychedelicists the Soft Boys and continuing with a series of highly regarded albums under his own name and with his backup outfit the Egyptians and, more recently, the Venus 3.
Robyn Hitchcock's new album Goodnight Oslo leaked, due out February 17 2009 before original release date: 2/17/09. Nothing different from Robyn Hitchcock's previous tasty music with the album, these are nice tracks.
Don't forget to check out and listen some song on his myspace page.
