Thunder, Lightning, Strike is the debut album by The Go! Team. It was
released on British label Memphis Industries in 2004 (see 2004 in music) and was nominated for the 2005 Mercury Music Prize.
The album was re-released in the U.S. and UK by Columbia Records in October 2005. It was slightly remixed (due to sample clearance issues) and contains bonus tracks.
The Go! Team are a Brighton, United Kingdom-based six piece band (with two drummers) whose songs are a mixture of action theme songs, cheerleader chants, indie-rock guitars and early hip-hop, with a hint of '70s funk. They place more emphasis on live instrumentation than some of their contemporaries, although they do base many of their songs around samples from various sources.
