Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah sold nearly 20,000 copies of its self-titled, self-released debut through the mail--and got nearly as many raves from enthusiastic MP3 bloggers, leading to an entry on Rolling Stone magazine's coveted Hot List. It's easy to feel skeptical, especially of an album that opens with a carnival barker imploring you to "Clap Your Hands!" But anyone that's felt the lure of bands such as the Arcade Fire and Interpol will want to keep listening. In vocalist Alec Ounsworth, this Brooklyn five-piece has found its own Jonathan Richman, a yelping madman that can sing things like "The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth" with a straight face. Meanwhile, the music itself is typically unhinged and under-produced, taking an anything-goes approach that coasts on sheer exuberance and results in moments of profound clarity such as "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away" and "Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood." A promising start but hold the applause.

Sex Pistols - Live at Chelmsford Prison

Sex Pistols were, despite their short existence, one of the most influential English punk bands. While of the original set of UK punks The Clash were perhaps more articulate and politically motivated, The Damned more versatile, and Buzzcocks had more astute pop sensibilities, the Pistols achieved more recognition through their iconic punk rock passion and flamboyancy, and no other band of the era made such a lasting impression on British popular culture. In November 2005, it was announced that they would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Johnny Cash - Ride this train (1960)

Ride This Train is the eighth album by country singer Johnny Cash. It was originally released in 1960 (see 1960 in music), but later re-issued on March 19, 2002 (see 2002 in music) with four bonus tracks. It is considered one of the first concept albums in the history of pop music.
Interesting notes about Cash
- In January 2006, singer-songwriter Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees purchased the 13,880-square-foot home on Old Hickory Lake in the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville, Tenn., where Johnny and June Carter Cash lived for 35 years. The house was sold "as is" with seven pieces of antique furniture, including the couple's bed. Built in 1968, the house includes seven bedrooms, five full baths and an outdoor swimming pool.
- Cash's apocalyptic song "The Man Comes Around" was used to great effect as the intro track to the 2004 horror remake Dawn of the Dead.
- He guest-starred in an episode of Columbo in 1974, called "Swan Song," playing singer and killer Tommy Brown.
- As of the late 1980's, Cash's total number of albums sold was an estimated 50,000,000. A more updated and accurate estimate is not available, but due to the resurgence of his career in the 1990's with Rick Rubin, and the success of Walk the Line, the total is probably much higher.
- Cash appeared in a Simpsons episode (#162, El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer)) as a desert coyote advising Homer to find his soulmate.

OK Go - OK go(2002)
OK Go is an American indie rock band from Chicago best known for their
single "Get Over It". They play rock music, with influences such as Cheap Trick, T Rex and Queen. They share management with They Might Be Giants, with whom they toured before signing to Capitol Records. They served as the house band to the public radio program This American Life on the show's fifth anniversary tour. Ira Glass, the show's host, wrote their first official bio, calling them "living catnip" and describing their songs as "part indie rock, part stadium rock, part straight up pop with the occasional whiff of the Pixies or The Cars or Elliott Smith."
In the United Kingdom, "Get Over It" debuted at No. 21 in the singles chart on March 16, 2003, and the band performed it on that week's edition of Top of the Pops. Also that week, the single's video was named video of the week by Q magazine. The single was also featured on the EA Sportsvideo game Triple Play Baseball series in 2002.

Iron & Wine - The Creek Drank the Cradle

The Creek Drank The Cradle is the first full-length release from Iron & Wine (aka Sam Beam). It was released on September 24, 2002. The vinyl LP release came with a bonus 7" vinyl single. The promo CD for this album was released in a cardboard sleeve with completely different artwork.
Iron & Wine is the stage and recording name for Florida singer-songwriter Sam Beam. Raised in South Carolina, Beam released his first album, The Creek Drank the Cradle label in 2002; Beam wrote, performed, recorded, and produced every track on the album by himself at a studio in his home. The album features acoustic guitars, , on the Sub Popbanjo, and slide guitar; its music has been compared, variously, to that of Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, Elliott Smith, and Ralph Stanley.
In 2003 The Sea & The Rhythm was released, an EP collecting other home-recorded tracks along the same lines as those on the debut. Beam's sophomore album, Our Endless Numbered Days (2004), was recorded in a professional studio with a significant increase in fidelity. The focus still lies on acoustic material, but the inclusion of other band members gives rise to a very different sound.
