Andrew Bird - Fitz & the Dizzy Spells
Fitz And The Dizzy Spells is actually an EP with the title track and the rest being reworkings of songs previously on the tracklisting for 'Noble Beast'. Official music video directed by Digitelio. Featuring Mucca Pazza and shot at the Hideout and various other locations in Chicago.
I sat and listened the whole Fitz & the Dizzy Spells Ep. One of the sadest moments of the Ep, Sectionate City makes your mind free with Andrew Bird's usual whistles and authentic instruments.

Sunset Rubdown - Dragonslayer
Vocalist Keyboardist Spencer Krug of the critically hailed Montreal band Wolf Parade (as well as part time Frog Eyes member) leads Sunset Rubdown, returns another rock album with lots of lauds, dreams, bells, piano beats and a broken voice.
"Dragonslayer" grabs soul of rock music, throws indie waves with eight new songs. The piano parts rings in your ear, opener "Silver Moons" is maybe one of the best Sunset Rubdown work. Its laud, spicy beats do not change here, Idiot Heart is the first single from "Dragonslayer". Like a disco rock song, fast guitar lines echo through the song, and i must note his amazing keybord performance at the end of song.
His anthem-like indie rock style comes once again to disturb your usual taste in music.
Highlights: Idiot Heart, Paper Lace
Rating:6/10

Manners- Passion Pit
'Manners' is finally out, and Passion Pit does not disappoint! After building up inordinate amounts of hopes and expectations for this release I was excited (and relieved) by how strong the entire album is, and how well it lives up to the hype. While 'Sleepyhead' is as good as ever and 'Moths Wings' is still my favorite, I've added several new favs to that list. 'To Kingdom Come' is a stand-out and the opener 'Make Light' is a brilliant wake up call to this band's talent.
The songs waver between soft and soaring to glowing and ecstatic, but the album does not waver in strength. There are fun dance tracks here, and they live side by side with much deeper sonic pools. Each of the tracks is a delight to tumble into; synth beats swarm throughout, and falsettos are keen and howling. Lyrics are brilliant, and the depth of each song grows with every listen. It’s great to see a band touch on delicacy and beauty and then swing right into raucous and carefree abandon. There was not a single song I didn't love, and my admiration for this band has reached new heights. In short... this may be my pick for album of the year!
Crank this thing up loud!

Manic Street Preachers announce remix album
Each track on Manic Street Preachers’ new album, “Journal For Plague Lovers”, is to be remixed for future release.

The results range from a Public Image-meets-Charlie Watts cosmic disco stomp to a galloping Joe Meek goes shoegaze homage. The stellar cast of ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ remixers is:
Andrew Weatherall ‘Peeled Apples’
Saint Etienne ‘Jackie Collins Existential Question Time’
British Sea Power ‘Me And Stephen Hawking’
Patrick Wolf ‘This Joke Sport Severed’
Optimo (Espacio) ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’
The Pariahs ‘She Bathed Herself In A Bath Of Bleach’
Adem ‘Facing Page Top Left’

The Horrors ‘Doors Closing Slowly’
Errors ‘All Is Vanity’

Astrid Williamson release "Here Come The Vikings"
I've been a long time fan since i first discovered her previous band Goya Dress. Brighton-based cult singer songwriter Astrid Williamson
marks the release of the 4th solo album at 8th June . Here Come the Vikings is a good rock record, blending its style in rock, pop, torch song and soul.
Here Come the Vikings is a bold, self-assured effort resplendent in detailed artful arrangements exploring the mysteries of faith, gender dynamics, and physical love. Even without the electric component, the music remains vivid and full of emotion. I hope she reach more of her listeners this time.

Tortoise - Beacons Of Ancestorship
TORTOISE RELEASE BEACONS OF ANCESTORSHIP JUNE 23RD ON THRILL JOCKEY. FIRST FULL-LENGTH OF NEW MATERIAL IN FIVE YEARS. The great majority of artists spend their formative years, if not their entire careers, working to shake off the gravitational pull of their predecessors, and the many masters and masterpieces that came before them. Rare indeed is the artist who outgrows their early influences, and instead become one of the markers by which other groups are measured. Almost alone among bands of the last two decades, Tortoise is a group that resists easy metaphors and analogies, who can be described as sounding like only themselves and no one else
you can listen two songs "High Class Slim Came Floatin' In" and "Prepare Your Coffin" at Tortoise Myspace.

Japandroids song "Young Hearts Spark Fire"
Japandroids (aka JPNDRDS) is a two piece band from Vancouver, BC. I've discovered this band with a weird name Japandroids recently. And i got their recent album "Post-Nothing (Promo)", there is a song named as Young Hearts Spark Fire. A very great song, i mean. These days, it's hard to find the hooks like these, a very powerful single.
This 'band' started in 2006 as a creative outlet for the post-teenage angst of Brian King and David Prowse. Originally intended to be a trio, the boys decided to forgo the logistical nightmare of having a 'lead singer' and do it themselves.

Patrick Wolf - The Bachelor (album details)
The Bachelor is set to be released by Universal Records on June 1. New record sounds authentic and poppier than previous Patrick Wolf albums.
A guest actress Tilda Swinton also appears on many songs such as "Oblivion","Theseus" and "Damaris. I loved her appearance. Each songs were written at two totally different times. You can feel this interruption in the middle of "The Bachelor". Some songs are amazingly great, however some of them have good reason to ignore listening, like every Wolf album. "Vulture" makes your whole spirit black, and i thought it would be a dark electronic album. However, first single "Vulture" is maybe the strangest one of all the new songs.
The artwork looks like a playstation 3 game cover. It's designed by Ada Zanditon and Gary Card.
I wonder what is the idea about purple magic light on Patrick Wolf's hands? Is he going to cast a magic spell on us?
Another nice Patrick Wolf album, i love his music despite all queerness.
Rating:9/10
Highlights: Hard Times, Oblivion, Damaris, Vulture

New York Dolls - Cause I Sez So (2009)
The New York Dolls’ second album since their reactivation five years ago is the return of Todd Rundgren as producer. Rundgren was behind the boards for their paradigm-shifting New York Dolls ’73 debut, and the group — whose sole still-breathing members from that first run are singer David Johansen and guitarist Sylvain Sylvain — were wise to offer him a rematch. Unlike 2006’s uneven One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This, ’Cause I Sez So is not faux retro, and neither does it overreach in order to speak to 2009. It’s just solid, classic Dolls, with all the swagger, muscle, righteous kitsch, and ballsy defiance you expect, plus some new twists.
